Custom Studiobricks studio solutions for University of Technology Sydney
When the University of Technology Sydney needed dedicated podcast recording spaces that could meet the demands of students, staff, and creators at scale, they turned to Envoy.
We supplied and installed three custom Studiobricks podcast suites, each engineered to deliver broadcast-quality acoustics in a self-contained, room-within-a-room format. These aren’t off-the-shelf booths. Every pod was specified to a custom internal height of 240cm and finished in bespoke RAL colours inside and out, designed to sit seamlessly within UTS’s contemporary campus aesthetic.
Audio Solutions with Accessibility built in
Each six-person pod is built for serious recording. Wall and ceiling surfaces are treated with Studiobricks Eco45 and EcotexOne acoustic absorbers, complemented by six bass traps per room and SmartFuser diffusers to create a controlled, broadcast-ready sound environment. Sound control glass doors and full-width front windows keep the pods open and inviting without compromising isolation. Passive ventilation connects directly to the building’s HVAC system, keeping the spaces quiet and comfortable during long sessions.
The fit-out goes beyond the booth itself. Each pod was equipped with a full complement of professional recording hardware including M!ka mic arms, cable management tunnels handling up to 10 cables, and Studiobricks LED light panels. We also supplied and installed on-air indicator lights, seating stools, and monitor arms, so each space is ready to record from the moment the door closes.
Pod 3 was specified as a DDA-compliant suite, featuring an extended footprint with a wider door and integrated accessibility ramp, ensuring the facilities are genuinely inclusive for all users.
Three booths all in one cohesive installation. A recording environment that matches UTS’s reputation for innovation.
