What is the Framery One Work?
Phone booths changed the open-plan office. They gave people somewhere to take a call without broadcasting it to the whole floor. But a booth built for a 15-minute call is a different thing to a space you can sit in for a whole afternoon, with a proper desk, two screens and enough air and light to stay sharp.
That is the gap the new Framery One Work is designed to fill. The Framery One Work makes its global debut at Orgatec 2026 in Cologne Framery calls it “the smart and soundproof workstation pod for one person”, and it is built for long sessions of focused work rather than quick conversations. Framery opens worldwide ordering on 27 October 2026, with shipping from March 2027. Here is what you need to know, and how to work out whether it suits your workplace.
The Soundproof Workstation Pod Built for Deep Work
The Framery One Work is a one-person smart pod built around a full-sized desk. It combines Class A soundproofing, adaptive ventilation, dual lighting and Framery’s smart booking features in a footprint of around 2.5 m². In practical terms, it gives you the privacy of a small private office that can sit right in the middle of an open-plan floor, and be booked like a meeting room.
A proper desk, not a ledge
The desk is the heart of the One Work, and it is what separates it from a typical phone booth.
- Full-size work surface: the table measures 116.8 x 60 cm and takes up to 60 kg.
- Sit or stand: a sturdy fixed desk at 70 cm is standard. Upgrade to the electric version for full height adjustment from 68.7 to 118.7 cm.
- Screen options: the monitor stand supports a single wide screen up to 40″ as standard, or an optional dual setup with two screens up to 27″ each, in landscape or portrait. Monitors are not included.
- Power and data: two on-table power outlets and three under-table outlets, plus optional 140 W USB-C PD charge ports and LAN ports.
For anyone who spends hours a day at a screen, the ergonomics matter as much as the acoustics. The One Work is set up like a real workstation, so people can actually stay in it.
Class A privacy in the middle of an open-plan office
The One Work carries a Class A rating under ISO 23351-1, the international standard for measuring speech level reduction in office booths, with a 30 dB speech level reduction. That means it can be placed next to busy workstations without the person inside being distracted, and without their calls disturbing the people outside.
The One Work also comes with the Framery Office Sound Masking System™ pre-fitted. Rather than working inside the pod, it improves the soundscape of the office around it, with an effective radius of about 5 m. So the pod gives privacy to the person inside and also helps the people working around it.
Inside, echo-free interior acoustics make the pod comfortable for both focused work and video calls. The glass is laminated sound control glass, and optional privacy films (in Solid, Line or Grid patterns) add visual privacy so people can stay in the flow even in a busy part of the office. If you want to understand what acoustic ratings mean in practice, see our guide to acoustic ratings in the real world.
Air and light designed for long sessions
A pod you stay in for hours has to breathe well. The One Work uses mmWave radar presence detection to recognise when it is occupied, senses the temperature and humidity of the surrounding space, and adjusts airflow to match. Framery says the enhanced ventilation fully refreshes the air every minute.
- Default airflow: 31 l/s when in use, rising to a maximum of 53 l/s.
- Refresh after use: the pod runs a higher ventilation speed after each session, then drops to a 24 l/s standby mode.
- Directional airflow: choose between direct and indirect airflow, and adjust settings from the touchscreen.
Lighting is just as considered. A 4000K double ceiling light delivers up to 375 lux on the table top, while a dedicated video light provides up to 500 lux on the user’s face. Preset Standard and Video call modes switch the lighting automatically, and everything can be fine-tuned manually.
Smart features that make it bookable
Like Framery’s other smart pods, the One Work is designed to be managed like any other bookable space in the office.
- 8-inch touchscreen on the desk to control lighting and airflow, and to extend a booking.
- Occupancy lights on the exterior show green for vacant, yellow for a booking starting soon, and red for occupied.
- Walk-in reservations: step inside and the pod automatically creates a booking that syncs with your company calendar. Or book in advance through the Framery App.
- Usage data: built-in sensors feed anonymous occupancy data into Framery Connect. No personally identifiable data is collected.
- Always up to date: a built-in 4G connection (or Wi-Fi) delivers automatic over-the-air updates.
An optional Framery Room Display kit can be added outside the pod to show upcoming bookings, and new smart pod owners receive a complimentary three-month Plus subscription to Framery’s smart office solutions. Read more about how Framery Smart Office shows every room in real time.
Accessible by design
The One Work has a wide 96.6 cm doorway and a low 1.25 cm threshold, designed for easy wheelchair entry in accordance with ADA guidelines. The door swings a full 180°. If accessibility compliance is part of your brief, our team can talk you through how the pod fits your project requirements.

Planning for a Framery One Work
Before you order, it pays to think through a few practical points. These are the questions we work through with clients on every pod project.
- Space: allow for the 196.4 x 129.2 cm footprint plus clearance for the door. Note the door is left-handed by default and cannot be changed, so plan the pod’s orientation accordingly.
- Weight and access: the pod weighs 488 kg and arrives in two crates (the larger is 227 x 77 x 144 cm), so check lift sizes, corridors and floor loading.
- Power: the pod runs on a standard 230 V, 10 A supply, and the power cord can be routed from the floor or the ceiling.
- Flexibility: the pod can be relocated without disassembly using a reusable movability kit, which suits offices that reconfigure often.
- Safety: Framery pods are fire safety tested and comply with ASCE 7-16 seismic testing, with easy floor anchoring.
Colours and finishes
The One Work can be configured to suit your fit-out. Exteriors come in White, Black and Gray as standard, with Navy, Sand, Powder Blue, Winter Moss and Blush options in a powder-coated ultramatt steel finish. Interior fabrics come in Pure Gray, Arctic Blue, Sand and Rouge, carpets in Light Gray, Dark Blue, Champagne and Grape, and table tops in White, Black anti-fingerprint laminate or Oak veneer. Optional extras include a smart lock and a protective kickplate.
Built to last
The One Work is built primarily from durable, recyclable materials such as steel, aluminium, glass and acoustic PET, with a modular design so components can be repaired or replaced rather than the whole pod. It is UL GREENGUARD Gold certified, and Framery publishes third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations and Health Product Declarations for its smart pods. Framery also holds an EcoVadis Gold sustainability rating, placing it among the top 5% of companies assessed. For the bigger picture, read the sustainability story behind every Framery booth.
Who is the Framery One Work for?
The One Work makes the most sense where people need private, focused time that lasts longer than a phone call.
- Hybrid offices that have removed private offices but still need bookable focus space.
- Heads-down roles such as finance, legal, software development and design, where long periods of concentration are part of the job.
- Video-heavy teams who spend large parts of the day on calls and need good light, air and acoustic privacy.
- Education and libraries, where staff and students need quiet, accessible study and work spaces.
If your need is mostly short calls, a Framery One or Framery One Compact may be the better fit. For more relaxed solo work, the Framery One Lounge swaps the desk for a sofa. The One Work is the option for when the work itself needs a dedicated space.
