A Compact Booth Built for Serious Sound Isolation

If you’re looking for a compact acoustic booth that combines strong sound isolation with a small footprint, the Studiobricks One is worth a look. It’s Envoy’s bestselling Studiobricks booth, trusted by broadcasters, voice actors, musicians, singing schools, and anyone who needs a dedicated space where outside noise stays out and focus stays in. Here’s a full breakdown of what makes it work, from the wall construction to the door seal.

The Booth Itself

The Studiobricks One is our most compact single person acoustic booth, and one of the most versatile. It measures 106 x 138 x 226 cm externally, with an interior of 90 x 120 x 210 cm, and weighs 445 kg. It requires a minimum ceiling height of 232 cm and needs to sit at least 5 cm from surrounding walls. It also uses a floating floor to help isolate it from vibration in the surrounding building.

Whether you’re conducting online consultations, running hearing assessments, recording voiceovers or podcasts, taking confidential calls, or simply looking for a quiet place to focus, the Studiobricks One creates a dedicated space where outside noise stays out and your concentration stays in. It’s used across commercial, education, healthcare and creative environments, wherever clear speech, accurate listening or acoustic privacy matters.

It’s available as a standard booth, or as a VO (voiceover) edition for anyone who wants to connect their own microphone and get set up quickly without sourcing extra equipment. The kit includes a Corner BTrap made from recycled PET, an 80 x 42 cm table, a monitor support compatible with VESA 75/100 mounts, and a set of m!ka by Yellowtec accessories, including a monitor arm, copy support stand, wall mount, arm pole adapter and microphone arm.

Built for Sound Isolation

At the core of the booth’s performance is a painted double wall system, 8 cm thick, which isolates an average of 45 dB. That level of isolation matters just as much in a quiet consulting room or an audiology clinic as it does in a studio.

Inside, the walls use a 45mm absorbent layer at 25 kg/m3 density, made from recycled cotton and PET rather than mineral wool or foam. This absorption is around 20% more effective than conventional foam.

A lot of that acoustic performance comes down to mass. The heavier lining helps absorb the frequencies you don’t want leaking in or out of the booth. Studiobricks has also increased the surface area of the material and built in small air pockets, which work together to trap different frequencies bouncing around inside the space.

Diffusers and Reflectors for Adjustable Acoustics

Studiobricks supplies diffusers in black or white, which slip directly over the acoustic lining. Because they share the same shape, they can be placed wherever suits the space best. Reflectors are also available, allowing users to adjust how live or dampened the room feels, useful whether you’re fine tuning a vocal booth or softening a space used for sensitive conversations.

Keeping Air Moving

Isolating sound this effectively raises an obvious question, how do you breathe comfortably inside a sealed booth? Studiobricks addresses this with a dedicated low noise ventilation system called the Aeropack, fitted to the wall. It can run on a silent setting throughout the day, continuously bringing fresh air into the space while warm air escapes through a vent in the roof, so comfort holds up during longer sessions, whether that’s a full day of consultations or a long recording block.

Hearing the Difference

In a demonstration of the booth’s isolation, a microphone placed outside picked up ambient sound such as air conditioning hum and background traffic noise, the kind of low level white noise most people tune out but that shows up clearly in professional recordings or accurate hearing assessments. Once inside the booth with the drop seal engaged around the door, that background noise dropped away entirely, leaving only clean sound with no reverb and no masking noise, aside from the occasional sound of fabric or movement.

The Door: Where Isolation Really Happens

Effective acoustic isolation depends heavily on the door, and the Studiobricks door is built accordingly. It’s a solid, weighty design with a precision seal mechanism engaged by lifting a handle. When the handle is lifted, small sections around the door frame move and grip onto clips built into the frame, pulling the door seal tightly into place. That tight seal is what delivers the final, meaningful improvement in acoustic performance.

Sustainability and Build Materials

The booth is made in Spain and has earned a Bronze Medal from Ecovadis. The materials used are around 50% recycled and 100% recyclable, the paint is water based, and the MDF used in construction is formaldehyde free.

Customisation Options

Studiobricks booths are built on a modular, panel based system, which means the range of customisation goes well beyond a fixed catalogue. On sizing, standard models start with compact single person booths suited to phone calls, consultations, voiceover work or focused solo tasks, scaling up through team and meeting booths in the 3 to 7 square metre range, and up to fully custom builds covering everything from a solo booth through to a full room within a room studio. The Takeaway

The Studiobricks One packs a lot of engineering into a small footprint, a mass driven double wall system, recycled cotton and PET absorbers, adjustable diffusers and reflectors, a dedicated ventilation system and a door seal mechanism built specifically for isolation. With a range of colour and laminate finishes, plus a purpose built VO kit for voice work, it’s a compact solution built around a clear priority, keeping unwanted sound out and keeping whatever happens inside, whether that’s a recording, a consultation or a moment of focus, clear.
