Magnetic Whiteboards Made to Order, Not Off the Shelf
Nothing about Enscribe leaves the workshop as a generic product. Boards are made to order to any size. Colour is equally flexible: any standard Dulux or RAL shade can be matched and reviewed against physical samples before production, and logos, templates or images can be worked into the glass itself.
That flexibility isn’t theoretical. When SHAC Architects redesigned Newcastle Grammar’s art room, they specified a full rainbow of Dulux tones, from “Red Clown” to “Magenta Limit”, across four bespoke panels with intricate cut-outs. A Surface Built to Outlast the Room Around It
The technical case for glass over laminate is straightforward. Enscribe magnetic whiteboards are constructed from glass bonded to a steel plate, either bonded permanently for a flush, near-invisible finish, or hung on a rail mount for a removable installation with a total depth of just 15.7mm.
Because the writing surface is glass rather than a porous coated panel, dry-erase ink sits on top of it rather than soaking in. A wipe with the supplied eraser handles daily use, and any stubborn residue lifts with a standard glass cleaner. There’s no ghosting, no yellowing, and no need to replace the board because it’s started to look shabby.
Practical details are built into the specification too. Cut-outs can be added for power points, switches or monitor arms, corners can be finished square or with a 4mm radius, and edges are arrised as standard. For fitouts on plasterboard, magnets fixed at the lower corners pull the board flush against the wall, with an audible click confirming a secure hang.
Fixed Wall or on the Move
Not every space has a spare wall to dedicate to a magnetic whiteboard, which is where Enscribe’s mobile range comes in. Available in 600mm and 1200mm widths, the mobile boards pair a magnetic glass writing surface with a powder-coated steel base on four lockable castors, and the rear panel can be specified as a blank powder-coated finish, a second magnetic glass surface, or a PET panel. It’s a genuinely flexible piece of furniture: wheel it into a scrum session in the morning, tuck it against a wall by lunchtime, and move it into a breakout space for the next workshop.
Fixed or mobile, every magnetic whiteboard arrives ready to use, complete with a dry-erase pen, magnetic eraser and a set of magnets, with typical lead times of six to eight weeks depending on quantity and customisation.
